WHFB Monster Mash!

Bigger is Better!

So this is a slight departure from the majority Rogue Trader flavor of this blog. I have a WHFB Dark Elf army i'm slowly slogging through, but I also have been collecting some big guys just for the sake of collecting. The old Jes Goodwin Ogres in particular are some of my all time favorite models. I managed to collect about seven or eight Ogres so far. I love these.

Random Rogue Trader Goodies!

Look out! We got us a photo dump.

Happy Holidays and Merry Christmakwanzanukkah to all!I've been working a lot lately, but I have managed to get some paint onto a few miniatures here and there. Hobby-wise i've just been busy painting and haven't done much in the way of gaming. Of course with Oldhammer its never easy to get a game in, but Airbornegrove over at Give 'Em Lead has been blowing up my chat and email with his ideas for virtual gaming. I'm actually really excited for the idea and it will let me get more gaming done between US Oldhammer events and meet-ups.

Also. I got a new computer. It's apple. I hate apple.

Anyways.... let the randomness begin.

Genestealer Cult!

Army Spotlight

The Cult of The Flawless Host

It began during a minor skirmish on an obscure planet. Human soldiers were sent to quell a minor uprising at a mining station. The mission went quickly and without even a single shot fired. The miners gave up their makeshift rebellion as soon as the soldiers made planetfall. The soldiers quickly got the mining station up and running again. The detachment of soldiers was looking forward to redeploying when the disappearances began...

Rogues of the Corregidan Sector

It's Not A Home Without Neighbors

With Oldhammer In The New World (OHITNW) 2015 behind me, I finally managed to get some relaxed painting done. With the ranks of rival factions growing, I decided that the Corregidan Sector needed some scoundrels to inhabit its varied planets and colonies.

Two-Gun Jones

Two-Gun Jones is an ambitious mercenary ship captain who has only recently shown up on the radar of local authorities. Whether he is new to the sector or if he has been able to avoid detection is not known. Even though his known crew is small in number, they have proven to be highly successful and cunningly elusive.

A Fortress With No Name

So in the past week and a half I finished painting the fortress and also took it up to Oldhammer In The New World in Allentown.

Due to some unforseen circumstances we weren't able to run a big siege game, but AirborneGrove and I managed to get in a few games around the castle and it looked fantastic. I will post a battle report in a later post... well..... multiple battle reports BECAUSE OHITNW WAS AMAZING!!

I promised a post about painting the fortress, and I shall deliver!!

A Mighty Fortress in the New World!

Sorry I haven't posted in a while; with Oldhammer Day coming up in August and real life obligations, I've been too busy to sit down and write a proper blog post. So, without further ado I bring you...

BULLDOG'S MODELLING DOGHOUSE!!!

I recently managed to get my hands on a Mighty Fortress! For those of you not in the know, Citadel made a styrofoam Mighty Fortress back in the 80's that I've wanted to get my hands on since I first saw one.

You can read a little background info on the Mighty Fortress set at Stuff of Legends.

I haven't really seen very many examples of completed kits on the internet, and I admit I was stuck on how I wanted to put mine together but then.....

Scoundrels of the Corregidan Sector

A wretched hive of scum and villainy...

A while back I did a spotlight on the notorious Inquisitor Serpico and his crew. I promised to talk about the one and only Worldburner. Well... better late then never I like to say.

The Ballad of Psycho Sam and the American Fanboys

Psycho Sam: American Highway Warlord

Yeah... one month. I haven't written a post in a month. Rub it in. I'm a horrible person and a failure.

Ok, i'm done with that. LET'S TALK ABOUT MINIATURES!!!

Or maybe just one miniature...

Those of you "in the know" have probably seen this little fella by now:

We are calling him "Pycho Sam: American Highway Overlord"

MARCH MADNESS!!

Basketball?

Hell no! I'm talking about real games! Sorry for the long absence, but at least i'm posting something. First I will appease your anger with some eye candy, and then later I will explain myself.

Part 1. I think I have an infection.

NURGLE-URGLE-URGLE-URGLE!!!

This is what happens when you eat pudding without eating your meat first.

Something Green and Stompy!!!

So, I've been trying to write one post a week and I pretty much failed at that. Oh well..... what can you do? Let's move on.

Lets talk about ORKS.

Orks orks orks. White Dwarf 134 is the reason I have a serious collecting problem. Before I saw that magazine I was just some innocent, nerdy dungeons and dragons kid. White Dwarf 134 is the reason I became a sex-crazed, mega-testosterone, BEAST of a man. A man's man! 1991 was the first year I tore an oak tree out of the earth and snapped it over my knee using only brute force and pure rage.

How? What gave me that power?

ORKS!!!!

"How to Paint Your Warband" By John Blanche and Mike McVey. It's all their fault.

GET ON WITH IT!!

NOVAOSRGOT! DAY TWO!!

The second day of our glorious Oldhammer Regional Tournament saw Fredrick Kober's Space Orks launch a raid against my nefarious demon-worshipping Genestealer Cult: The Cult Of The Flawless Host!

In a zealous bid to spread their Patriarch's seed to new species, the foolhardy human cultists nabbed an Ork prisoner and brought him back to a hideout in the wastelands for interrogation... and maybe whisper some genetic sweet nothings...

Battle Report!

The First Annual Northern Virginia and Other States Regional Grand Oldhammer Tournament!

(NOVAOSRGOT!) Day One

This weekend Con-fusion hosted a grand Oldhammer summit at his grand winter keep. In attendance was Fredrick Kober, Ardyer, Oathead, and myself. Real names have been changed to protect the guilty!

Fredrick and myself landed our personal shuttle at Con-fusion's winter keep on Saturday afternoon, and after ogling his collection of Oldhammer goodies, we got started playing some Rogue Trader! Con-fusion's marines teamed up with my Crimson Fists to defend a bombed-out ruined chapel and an irradiated water supply from the nefarious marauding Ork warband of Fredrick Kober!!

Inquisitor Serpico and the Corregidan Expedition

My favorite thing about Rogue Trader (aside from the miniatures) is the RPG feel of the game. Having been a D&D player when I discovered Rogue Trader, it was pretty easy to cross over. Now that I'm amassing and painting the collection that I wanted back when I was knee-high to an Ambull, I have the chance to build a background story for my collection. I also always enjoyed reading army features in White Dwarf because in addition to pictures of awesome armies, the collector would usually give a little background story. So..... on to the pictures!

The first thing I need for my Rogue Trader gaming is a setting. Where is all this good action going to take place? The Corregidan Sector - on the edge of explored space, and just a name on Imperial charts. The Corregidan Sector is home to remote human settlements, marauding bands of aliens and pirates, hundreds of unexplored planets, and plenty of reasons to blast other sentient beings with virus grenades. This is where Inquisitor Serpico comes in.
